Why does one beer make me feel sick?

Why does one beer make me feel sick?

Alcohol increases the production of gastric (stomach) acid, and can also cause a build up of triglycerides (fat compounds and free fatty acids) in liver cells. Any of these factors can result in nausea or vomiting.

Why does beer make me feel sick?

When alcohol is metabolized in the body, one of the primary byproducts is acetaldehyde. It's a toxic carcinogen, so the body (liver) tries to break it down as quickly as possible. When you can't break down acetaldehyde quickly enough, you get sick, feeling nauseated, vomiting, and getting heartburn.
