What is stimulus discrimination?

What is stimulus discrimination?

Stimulus discrimination is a component of cognitive behavioral treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Clients are guided to deliberately attend to differences between then (danger at the time of the trauma) and now (safety in the present).

How do you teach shaping?

When shaping a child's behavior, keep the focus on the desired behavior as much as possible. For example, tell your child, “Walk while we are in the store,” instead of saying, “Don't run.” When kids hear the desired behavior, they are much more likely to remember it.
