Basic Caustic / Chlorinated beer line cleaners are a mixture of either Sodium Hydroxide or Potassium Hydroxide (This is the Caustic Part) and Sodium Hypochlorite. The caustic part is there to aid cleaning but it also stabilises the sodium hypochlorite to increase the shelf life.
