CHEROKEE, N.C. (WLOS) — Voters in Cherokee have approved several measures to allow sales of alcohol on the reservation. Those measures will allow the sale of beer at stores, the sale of beer and wine at restaurants and hotels and open an ABC store.
North Carolina abides by the three-tier system to distribute and sell alcohol. In North Carolina, there are a total of 18,764 retail businesses that are allowed to sell alcohol. This number includes both on-premise (restaurants/bars/clubs) and off-premise (gas stations/grocery stores) businesses.
Cherokee is a DRY county for one. Two, per state laws Harrah's Cherokee may NOT have any games of chance, thus the video game poker and reel machines.
